Questions
Good things to know.

How does the vintage telephone work?
The phone comes with The Memory Booth and the Memory Wall. We record your custom greeting onto it, and a guest simply picks up the handset, hears your voice explaining what to do, and leaves a message after the tone. It's self-explanatory — nobody needs instructions, and there's no attendant standing over them.
When do we get our recordings?
We deliver everything digitally within about a week of your event. Audio arrives as individual files plus one combined track; video arrives in a private gallery you can download and share. You keep them permanently.
Is there a limit on how many messages guests can leave?
No. Every package includes unlimited messages for the length of your rental. Guests can also record more than once — and often do, later in the night.
Do you set everything up, or do we?
We do. We arrive ahead of your start time, set up, test everything, and quietly collect it afterward. Setup and breakdown are included in every package.
What do you need from our venue?
A standard power outlet within about 25 feet, a level indoor surface, and roughly a 4x4 foot footprint for the full booth. The phone and wall need less.
How far in advance should we book?
Popular dates — especially Saturdays in spring and fall — book out months ahead, so earlier is always safer. Online booking requires at least 7 days' notice; anything sooner is blocked on the calendar. If your event is inside that window, call us at (850) 533-0965 — we can often still make it work, we just need to check it by hand.
What's required to reserve our date?
A 25% deposit reserves your date and equipment. The remaining balance is due before your event. You can book entirely online — no phone call needed.
Do you travel outside Lubbock?
We regularly serve Lubbock, Wolfforth, Shallowater, Idalou and the surrounding communities at no extra charge. Farther out, we usually can — there's a travel add-on during booking, or reach out and we'll quote it.
Can we customize the greeting?
Yes, and we'd encourage it. The greeting is recorded in your own voice — it sets the tone and makes guests far more likely to leave something real. On the video station we can also build a custom welcome overlay with your names and date. Our instruction signage is a standard design, so guests always know exactly what to do.
What if we need to change or cancel?
Get in touch as early as you can and we'll do our best to move your date, subject to availability. Full details are in our rental policies.
Do you set up outdoors?
Not at this time — we're indoor-only for now. Our equipment is handmade and the electronics don't mix well with West Texas wind, dust, and heat, so we'd rather do it properly than risk your recordings. A covered indoor space at your venue works perfectly, and most outdoor receptions have one nearby. If you're not sure whether your space works, send us a photo and we'll tell you straight.
How is this different from a photo booth?
A photo booth gives you pictures — which you probably already have several photographers capturing. This gives you voices and stories: advice, congratulations, inside jokes, the things nobody writes in a guestbook. It's a different kind of keepsake entirely.
