Why a booklet
Pictures you follow,
not notes you decode.
We built our phone booth from sketches, a lumber run and a lot of trial and error. Our working notes got us there, but nobody should have to build from notes. So we’re turning the whole kiosk into the kind of booklet that comes in a flat-pack box: one drawing per step, parts you can recognise by shape, arrows instead of paragraphs, and a pictured parts list you can hand to the person at the lumber desk.
If you’d rather we bring a finished booth to your event, that’s our rental service. This page is for building your own.
What's inside
Four illustrated spreads, from the lumber run to the last screw.
Drawn for makers with a weekend and basic tools, and for rental operators who want a phone-booth guestbook in the lineup. Every spread is being illustrated to the same standard.
- 01
Exploded kiosk diagram
The whole phone booth pulled apart on one page: base, four wall panels, the door, the arched crown. Every part numbered so you see how it goes together before you cut anything.
- 02
Parts and shopping list
Every board, sheet, fastener and finish drawn as a pictured icon with a quantity, the IKEA way, so you can walk into any home-improvement store and pull the whole build in one trip.
- 03
Cut plates with the 2 × 2 window grid
Each panel drawn at finished size with its dimensions and the four square window holes laid out in a 2 × 2 grid, so the lumber-cart cut and the shop cut both come out right.
- 04
Numbered, illustrated steps
One action per illustration: which panel, which fastener, which direction. The crown arch gets its own sequence. No paragraphs to decode mid-build.
Founding access
How it works.
The booklet isn't finished yet, and we'd rather say so plainly than sell you a stack of drafts. Founding buyers back the illustrated version, get it first, and accept that it's a final sale.
- 01
Reserve founding access
Pay the $197 founding price once. That's the whole cost; the list price is $297 once the booklet ships.
- 02
We finish and sign off the illustrations
The kiosk design is locked and the build is documented. We're drawing every spread, and the booklet ships only once every page is signed off.
- 03
The booklet lands in your inbox
The finished digital booklet goes to your checkout email the moment it's signed off. Every future revision is included at no charge.

Questions
Before you buy.
- Are purchases refundable?
- No. This is a digital product, so all purchases are final and there are no refunds. Please read this page carefully before you buy; if you have a question first, email us and we'll answer it.
- Is the booklet ready right now?
- Not yet. The kiosk design is locked and every step is documented; we're now illustrating the digital booklet itself. Founding access is open: you pay today and receive the finished booklet by email once it's signed off.
- What is this, exactly?
- A digital, IKEA-style illustrated build booklet for a classic phone-booth kiosk: an exploded diagram, a pictured parts and shopping list, cut plates for every panel with the 2 × 2 window grid, and numbered step illustrations. It's designed to be followed from the pictures.
- What isn't it?
- It isn't a physical booth, a kit, or a rental. Nothing ships in a box, no materials are included, and there's no return date. You buy the lumber, hardware and electronics yourself and build the booth from the booklet. If you'd like us to bring a finished booth to your Lubbock event, that's our rental service.
- What does the finished booth look like?
- A classic phone-booth kiosk: an arched crown on top, a footprint of roughly 36 by 36 inches, walls around 84 inches tall, and four square window holes in a 2 × 2 grid on each glazed panel. Inside is a handset audio guestbook and a small video station. It's the same silhouette people recognise on sight.
- How does delivery work?
- By email, to the address you use at checkout, once the finished booklet is signed off. Your Stripe receipt arrives immediately so you have proof of your founding purchase, and every future revision comes to the same address for free.
- How much do the materials cost?
- That depends on your local lumber prices and the finish you choose, and it isn't included in the booklet price. The pictured shopping list lets you price the whole build at your home-improvement store before you start.
- What tools and skills do I need?
- Basic woodworking tools (a circular or table saw, a drill, a jigsaw for the window holes and the crown arch, a sander) and comfort with simple low-voltage wiring. No soldering is required. If you can build a bookshelf, you can build this.
- Can I build booths commercially?
- Yes. Build as many booths as you like for your own events or rental business. The booklet itself can't be resold or redistributed.
- Why is the founding price lower?
- Founding buyers are backing the booklet before it's finished, and they accept that it's a final sale on a digital product that hasn't shipped yet. In return they pay $197 instead of the $297 list price and get every future revision free. The price goes up when the booklet ships.
